Come and join us on Thursday 6th October from 5.30pm onwards we are hosting a Winemaker’s Tasting Table to introduce the Australian winemaker Glen Hayley from Kooyong, Mornington Peninsula. There will be a complimentary tasting table for anyone interested in finding out more about this incredible wine. We will have 2012 Ferrous Pinot Noir, Kooyong and 2013 Faultline Chardonnay, Kooyong out to taste.
If you go for the London Restaurant Festival Menu, there is also a chance to enjoy matching wines served by Glen himself. (Please note that this will be at additional cost to the guest).
Background on the wine and winemaker:
In the cool climes of Australia’s Mornington Peninsula, 80km south of Melbourne, boutique winery Kooyong have crafted a reputation for the very best representation of Australian Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. The vineyard is split into five individual and distinct areas, it is these differences which influence the flavours of the wines from each site.
Glen Hayley’s winemaking philosophy is driven by authenticity; wine that speaks of place, preserving the character of the fruit and celebrating the vineyard in which it was grown. It is the fine balance between scrupulous attention to detail and minimal intervention that allows wine to fully express provenance. Glen’s passion for natural fermentation techniques extends beyond wine to sour beer, cider and fermented food.
